Our ultimate directory of Windows PC executables.PasswordOnWakeSettingFlyout.exe is a Windows application designed to provide a graphical user interface for the system's password on wake password login feature. When the system wakes from sleep or hibernation, this application prompts the user to enter their password as a security measure.
When researching this .exe, I learned at the official Microsoft website that a flyout is a "light dismiss container that can show arbitrary UI as its content". I then did an image search, and found examples of Windows flyouts. The examples showed things like volume controls that appear/disappear as you use them.
So what is the "User CPL Password on wake setting flyout" exactly, in Windows? "CPL" refers to a "control panel" in Windows software. Therefore, it appears PasswordOnWakeSettingFlyout.exe is related to a brief and temporary "flyout" that appears when the Windows user has set up "password on wake" with the Windows OS.
When the Windows PC wakes up, it asks for the user password, and this temporary "flyout" requesting the password is the "User CPL Password on wake setting flyout".
If you use the Windows "password on wake" control panel setting, then it should be normal for you to see this executable running on your PC.
