What’s MofCompiler.exe (Visual Studio Mof Compiler Tool)? Is it safe or a virus?

MofCompiler.exe is a command-line tool developed by Microsoft Corporation that is used by software developers to compile Managed Object Format (MOF) files.

MOF files are designed to define the structure and data of managed objects for the Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) infrastructure. This tool is a part of the WMI infrastructure and it is used to compile MOF files into the WMI repository to make the classes and properties defined in the MOF files available for use by applications and WMI clients. By doing this, MofCompiler.exe helps to ensure that the information and functionality provided by the MOF files can be accessed and utilized within the WMI framework.
