Our ultimate directory of Windows PC executables.New_chrome.exe is a process related to the Brave Browser by Brave Software, Inc. This executable file is part of the browser's functionality and is launched when the browser is opened. New_chrome.exe is responsible for running the graphical user interface of the Brave Browser, allowing users to navigate the internet, access websites, and use various features and extensions.
Brave browser is built on the Chromium framework, which is the open-source foundation for Google Chrome. During my research, I found online claims suggesting that Brave didn't modify some Chrome-specific code. When Chrome updates, it creates a "new_chrome.exe" file, deletes the old version, and then renames "new_chrome.exe" to "chrome.exe" to replace the original file.

The publisher of an executable is the entity responsible for its distribution and authenticity. Most processes/executables on your PC should be signed. The signature on the executable should have been verified through a third party whose job it is to make sure the entity is who it says it is. Find an unsigned executable? You should consider scanning any completely unsigned .exe on your PC.
