What’s iCloudPhotos.exe (iCloud Photo Library)? Is it safe or a virus?

iCloudPhotos.exe is a Windows executable file developed by Apple Inc. that facilitates the integration of Apple’s iCloud Photo Library with Windows PCs. It enables users to access, manage, and synchronize photos and videos stored in iCloud seamlessly across their Apple devices and Windows computers. By using this application, photos and videos captured on iPhones, iPads, or other Apple devices are automatically uploaded to iCloud and can be downloaded to a PC. Similarly, content added on the PC can be uploaded to iCloud. This creates a unified photo and video management system across platforms, ensuring easy access and backup.

What does it mean if someone is the publisher of a PC .exe (executable or process)?

The publisher of an executable is the entity responsible for its distribution and authenticity. Most processes/executables on your PC should be signed. The signature on the executable should have been verified through a third party whose job it is to make sure the entity is who it says it is. Find an unsigned executable? You should consider scanning any completely unsigned .exe on your PC.
