What’s QAAgent.exe (QAAgent)? Is it safe or a virus?

Yep, whenever I see a process with the name "agent" in it, I feel a bit nervous. "Agent" reminds me of "secret agents" which in turn reminds me of spyware, and here at SpyShelter's labs in Austin, Texas, my job is to fight spyware.

But, is QAAgent.exe spyware? No, it is not, as long as it's signed by Acer.

QAAgent.exe is a process associated with Acer's Quick Access software, which is pre-installed on Acer computers. The QAAgent.exe file is responsible for running the Quick Access application, which provides users with quick access to various settings and features on their Acer devices. This may include things like display settings, power management options, or audio settings.

QAAgent.exe is not essential for Winodws, but it is an important component of Acer's software suite and may be necessary for the proper functioning of the Quick Access app on Acer devices.
